The new rudder arrived from Italy! McMichael's is painting it this week. She looks great and the stock fits like a glove.
The rudder weight has been submitted to our rating consultant as have been our new sail measurements from North Sails. We are hopeful that we will receive our IRC, ORR and PHRF rating certificates sometime in April. The certificate for Sydney-Hobart is ORCi and comes from ORR.
The shrink-wrap cover is off the boat and she is being cleaned and waxed. We are scheduled to go in the water at McMichael's on Monday, April 3rd. I am checking to see if LYC has our mooring ready. Chad and Chris Simon will oversee the installation of the rig on the 3rd at McM.
Chris Simon and H.L. made a solid connection through Steve Benjamin and our friends from Spookie with the service team at Sailmon. The plan is to have someone down during a test sail to provide feedback on our current utilization of the equipment and offer advice as to how we can get the maximum out of the total package. If they can't make to Larchmont they are available to H.L. to field questions via email.
The new interior boat cushion are being delivered April 2nd.
The trailer interior is being painted as I type. Chad and Chris Simon are ordering the racking system. License plates for the trailer have been obtained.
The new Chevy pickup truck has been ordered. I hope that it arrives mid May.
I would like to have four practice sessions during April. I prefer Saturday or Sunday mornings, 7-11am. Please let me know if those times work for most. Alternatively, 6-8:30pm Monday-Thursday also works.
Watch Captains Bauer and Holliday are making steady progress on the inspection of all safety equipment and checking race requirements to ensure that we are compliant for all planned events.
I am having conversations next week with potential 11th crew candidates.
Ryan and I are going to be working on a soft goods / clothing order. He will reach out to you for sizes.
